About the Role
Proten is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Officer to manage customs clearance activities, import and export documentation, and regulatory compliance. In this vital role, you will ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods across Nigerian borders in full accordance with applicable customs and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities- Coordinate import and export shipments, ensuring the timely processing and clearance of goods across all channels.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Liaise effectively with Customs House Agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, port authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian Customs Service requirements, as well as NAFDAC, SONCAP, and other statutory import/export regulations.
- Monitor shipment statuses, port activities, and delivery timelines to proactively identify and resolve customs clearance bottlenecks.
- Track customs duties, freight costs, and logistics expenses, ensuring accurate financial reconciliation and detailed record-keeping.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in logistics, customs clearance, freight forwarding, or import/export operations.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in preparing and processing comprehensive shipping paperwork and export documentation.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, port operations, and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including NAFDAC and SONCAP compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
