About the Role
COOPI - Cooperazione Internazionale is an independent humanitarian organization fighting global poverty and assisting populations affected by emergencies, conflicts, and natural disasters. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team in Plateau State, Nigeria. In this vital operational role, you will provide critical support to our multi-sectorial humanitarian interventions, ensuring that our supply chain, procurement, and logistics functions operate with maximum efficiency and transparency.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Logistics Assistant, you will manage day-to-day administrative and operational tasks under the supervision of the Logistics Officer. Your core duties will include:
- Maintaining accurate physical and electronic filing systems for all procurement and logistics documentation.
- Tracking, verifying, and processing original invoices and issuing tender documents to registered vendors upon request.
- Assisting the procurement team in updating supplier and price lists, conducting market surveys, and performing quarterly vendor appraisals.
- Managing base fuel storage, tracking consumption, and submitting timely monthly logistics reports.
- Maintaining the organizational asset inventory register and supporting the identification and contracting of project premises.
- Overseeing vehicle fleet management, ensuring accurate trip logs, and scheduling regular preventive generator maintenance.
- Ensuring strict compliance with COOPI code of conduct, donor regulations, and zero-tolerance anti-fraud policies.
To be successful in this humanitarian logistics role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- University Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related relevant field.
- At least 2 years of proven working experience in a similar logistics or procurement role within an INGO or UN organization.
- Local working experience in Plateau State will be considered a strong added advantage.
- Solid understanding of supply chain concepts, procurement cycles, and humanitarian logistics best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software such as REGOLO.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and negotiation skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously under tight deadlines while maintaining cultural sensitivity and professionalism.
