About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join its academic community as a Lecturer III in Library and Information Science within the School of Liberal Studies. In this role, you will contribute to the academic development of students, engage in impactful research, and uphold the institution's rich tradition of excellence in technical and vocational education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and tutorials in Library and Information Science to undergraduate and sub-degree students.
- Develop and update course curricula, teaching materials, and evaluation methods in line with institutional and national standards.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and seminars.
- Supervise student research projects, practical training, and academic assignments.
- Participate actively in departmental, school, and college meetings, committees, and community service initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their personal and professional growth.
- A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a closely relevant discipline, accompanied by at least two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Alternatively, a good Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline, alongside at least three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, plus two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Serving Assistant Lecturers who have completed at least three (3) years of satisfactory service and presented two (2) conference or seminar papers are also eligible to apply.
