About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university in Nigeria renowned for academic excellence and research innovation, is seeking a qualified and dynamic academic professional to join our esteemed faculty. We are currently looking for a Lecturer II in Mechatronics Engineering to contribute to our vibrant Department of Engineering. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the next generation of engineers through rigorous teaching, groundbreaking research, and dedicated mentorship within a world-class academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mechatronics Engineering.
- Develop and update course curricula in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern industry trends.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, research theses, and academic development.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish peer-reviewed papers in reputable academic journals, and attract research grants.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Possession of a PhD in Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline, OR a Master's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of tertiary-level teaching experience.
- Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- A first-degree (Bachelor's) in Engineering with not below a Second-Class Upper Division; applicants with a Second-Class Lower Division must hold a relevant PhD.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern engineering software, automation tools, and practical laboratory applications.
