The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, invites applications from qualified and passionate academics for the position of Lecturer II within the Department of Marine Engineering. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Marine Engineering and related disciplines.
- Develop and update course curricula in compliance with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and research work.
- Conduct high-quality research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to academic scholarship.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Mentor and advise students on academic progress and career development in the maritime sector.
- A First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in Marine Engineering or a closely related field.
- Alternatively, a Second-Class Lower Division with a relevant PhD.
- A Master's degree or a PhD in Marine Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- At least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
