About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a vibrant and rapidly growing institution established in 2011, is dedicated to expanding access to quality higher education in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our academic community as a Lecturer II in Information Technology within our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of tech talent through rigorous teaching, innovative research, and active participation in departmental and university activities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Information Technology.
- Design, update, and evaluate course curricula to reflect current industry standards and technological advancements.
- Conduct high-quality research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals, and contribute to the institution's scholarly profile.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and academic research work.
- Provide mentorship, academic counseling, and guidance to students to support their holistic development.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings and assist with administrative duties as assigned.
- Possess a Ph.D. degree in Information Technology or a relevant computing discipline from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, hold a Master's degree in a relevant field, supported by at least two (2) peer-reviewed journal publications.
- Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level.
