About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our academic team as a Lecturer II in Building Technology within the School of Environmental Studies. In this role, you will contribute to our rich legacy of providing top-tier technical education, fostering innovation, and preparing the next generation of industry leaders across our accredited National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, and degree programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical training, and tutorials in Building Technology courses for undergraduate and sub-degree students.
- Supervise student research projects, industrial attachments, and practical workshop sessions.
- Design, update, and implement comprehensive course curricula in line with modern industry standards and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in department, school, and college-wide committees, academic administration, and student mentoring.
- Engage in community service and foster linkages with the built environment industry to bridge academia and practical application.
- Doctorate degree in Building Technology or a closely relevant discipline, accompanied by at least three (3) conference or seminar papers and three (3) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, supported by three (3) conference or seminar papers and three (3) published journal articles.
- Serving Lecturer III candidates holding a Master's degree in a relevant discipline with at least three (3) years of satisfactory service as Lecturer III, including two (2) conference or seminar papers and two (2) published journal articles, are also eligible to apply.
