About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer I in the Department of Quantity Surveying, School of Environmental Studies. As a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional academic instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring the next generation of quantity surveying professionals within a vibrant and resource-rich academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), and Bachelor degree programmes.
- Design, update, and evaluate course curricula in line with National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, industrial training, and student field works.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in Quantity Surveying and contribute to peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and textbooks.
- Participate in departmental, school, and college-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Mentor students academically and professionally to ensure high ethical and professional standards.
- Doctorate degree in Quantity Surveying or a directly relevant discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, alongside required journal and textbook publications.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least six (6) years of teaching, research, or industrial experience, plus mandatory conference papers, journal articles, and textbook chapter contributions.
- Serving Lecturer II officers with at least three (3) years of satisfactory service and the requisite publication profile are also eligible to apply.
- Strong track record of academic publishing within the last four (4) years, including conference papers, journal articles, and textbook contributions.
- Professional membership in relevant bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and registration with QSRBN is an added advantage.
