Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our esteemed academic community as a Lecturer I in Photography within the School of Arts, Design and Printing. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the next generation of creative professionals by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the academic excellence of our vibrant institution.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical workshops, and tutorials in photography for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
- Develop and update course curricula, teaching materials, and assessment methods aligned with industry standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, studio works, and industrial training placements.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in photography and visual arts, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in department, school, and college committee meetings and academic events.
- Mentor students and provide academic and career guidance.
- Doctorate degree in Photography or a relevant discipline, with at least three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience; accompanied by three (3) conference/seminar papers, three (3) journal articles, and at least one (1) textbook chapter contribution published within the last four (4) years.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in the relevant discipline, with at least six (6) years of teaching, research, or industrial experience; along with the specified publication requirements.
- Serving Lecturer II with at least three (3) years of satisfactory service and meeting the requisite publication criteria.
- Strong portfolio of creative or professional photography work.
