About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and academically accomplished individual to join our esteemed faculty as a Lecturer I in Library and Information Science within the School of Liberal Studies. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the minds of future professionals by delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and advancing research in library science and information management.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training for undergraduate and diploma students in Library and Information Science.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Conduct impactful research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental administrative duties as assigned.
- Participate actively in academic committees, departmental meetings, and institutional events.
- Doctorate degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related discipline, with at least 3 years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 6 years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience.
- Serving Lecturer II candidates with a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory service are also eligible.
- Must possess the required publication criteria, including conference/seminar papers, journal articles, and textbook chapter contributions published within the last four years.
