About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the day-old chicks and poultry industry, is seeking a meticulous and driven Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic quality assurance team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will help safeguard our high standards by ensuring all products and processes meet strict regulatory and food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine microbiological, chemical, and physical tests on raw materials, in-process goods, finished products, water, and environmental samples.
- Collect, label, prepare, and analyze samples meticulously according to approved standard operating procedures.
- Monitor product quality throughout various stages of the production cycle to prevent deviations.
- Record and maintain accurate laboratory documentation, test results, and inventory logs.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for safe use.
- Identify out-of-specification results promptly and support investigations into quality deviations.
- Maintain optimal laboratory hygiene and adhere strictly to good laboratory practices and HSE guidelines.
- Manage the proper storage, handling, and stock monitoring of reagents and chemical supplies.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits, regulatory inspections, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Prepare comprehensive routine reports and communicate findings effectively to the Production and Quality teams.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably within a fast-paced food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Solid working knowledge of food microbiology, laboratory testing methods, sampling techniques, and quality control.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and broader food safety standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and precise documentation skills with great attention to detail.
