About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital platform in Nigeria providing instant loans and financial services through our Android app. We are looking for a motivated and analytical Junior Underwriter to join our dynamic team and support our credit risk management activities through rigorous financial analysis, business verification, and portfolio monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process initial credit applications in strict compliance with company credit policies and approval guidelines.
- Conduct thorough physical and online verification of onboarded businesses to establish credibility and validate submitted information.
- Analyze business models and financial statements to assess creditworthiness and identify potential financial risks.
- Monitor assigned credit facilities and portfolios for emerging risks, unusual activities, and early signs of portfolio deterioration.
- Review delinquent accounts to identify default causes, recommend corrective actions, and track timely resolution.
- Prepare accurate and timely credit risk reports to support management reviews and strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of credit assessment and approval processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of proven experience in credit underwriting within the Nigerian banking or financial services industry, focusing on SME clients.
- Strong ability to interpret financial statements and accurately assess credit risk.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with exceptional attention to detail.
