Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) invites applications from suitably qualified medical professionals for the Junior Resident (Mental Health) position. Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients under consultant supervision.
- Participate actively in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, emergency psychiatric services, and multidisciplinary clinical conferences.
- Engage in academic research, departmental seminars, case presentations, and continuous professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and adhere strictly to medical ethics and hospital safety standards.
- Mentor junior medical staff, medical students, and allied healthcare professionals during clinical rotations.
- Possess an MBBS or MBChB Degree or recognized equivalent medical qualification.
- Hold full registration and a current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Provide evidence of completion, exemption, or exclusion from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Desire to pursue fellowship training leading to the award of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCN), West African College of Physicians (WACP), or West African College of Surgeons (WACS).
- A successful pass in the relevant primary examination of the aforementioned postgraduate medical colleges is an added advantage but not strictly compulsory.
