About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is seeking a dedicated and qualified medical professional to join our esteemed institution as a Junior Resident in Chemical Pathology. This comprehensive residency program offers exceptional clinical exposure, diagnostic training, and academic development within a leading federal tertiary health institution in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Participate actively in the Chemical Pathology department's patient care, laboratory diagnostics, and clinical services.
- Conduct routine and specialized biochemical investigations, ensuring high standards of quality control and accuracy.
- Collaborate with consultants, medical laboratory scientists, and other healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary patient management.
- Engage in departmental seminars, clinical meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and academic research activities.
- Fulfill all rotations, clinical duties, and assessments required by the training curriculum for the award of professional fellowships.
- Must possess an MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Must have full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Must provide evidence of completion, exemption, or exclusion from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
- Must possess a current practicing license.
- A pass in the relevant primary examination of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or the West African Postgraduate Medical College is an added advantage but not strictly compulsory.
