Resurgir Consulting is partnering with a reputable educational institution to recruit a talented and dedicated Home Economics / Fashion Design & Garment Making Teacher for junior classes. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping young minds by equipping them with essential life skills, creative thinking, and foundational vocational expertise in a vibrant Lagos-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Teach comprehensive Home Economics subjects to junior secondary students following the approved academic curriculum.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on practical lessons in fashion design, tailoring, and garment construction.
- Instruct students on basic sewing techniques, precise body measurements, fabric handling, and professional finishing.
- Develop creative lesson plans, instructional materials, and interactive practical projects.
- Monitor, assess, and record students' academic and practical progress regularly.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and safe classroom and studio environment.
- Ensure the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all sewing machines and teaching tools.
- Participate actively in school meetings, professional development training, and extracurricular activities.
- Minimum of an HND or BSc in Home Economics, Education, Fashion Design, or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of proven teaching experience in a structured school setting.
- Exceptional practical sewing, tailoring, and garment-making capabilities.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
