Resurgir Consulting is partnering with a dynamic educational institution in Lagos to recruit a dedicated Junior Classes Home Economics / Fashion Design & Garment Making Teacher. In this role, you will shape young minds by instilling essential life skills and fostering creativity through hands-on learning. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can seamlessly blend theoretical knowledge with practical craftsmanship, ensuring students grasp both the scientific and artistic sides of Home Economics and fashion.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Home Economics to junior-class students in alignment with the approved school curriculum.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on practical lessons in fashion design and garment construction.
- Instruct students on basic sewing techniques, precise body measurements, fabric handling, and professional finishing.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and creative practical activities.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' academic and practical progress regularly.
- Foster a positive, creative, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages skill development.
- Ensure the proper handling, maintenance, and safety of all sewing equipment and teaching aids.
- Participate actively in school meetings, professional training sessions, and extracurricular events.
- HND or BSc in Home Economics, Education, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a structured school environment.
- Strong theoretical knowledge and proven practical skills in sewing and garment construction.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom-management abilities.
- High level of patience, creativity, responsibility, and organizational competence.
