About the Role
Brilliant Performance Solutions Limited is seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and articulate Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing robust management and financial accounting support. While experience in the construction industry is a distinct advantage, we are looking for a dedicated professional eager to contribute to our financial operations and maintain strict compliance with regulatory standards. Due to commuting considerations, candidates residing within Ikeja and its environs will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities- Manage general ledger entries, journal entries, and perform daily bank account monitoring and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the effective management of project budgets.
- Apply construction accounting standards, set up jobs, handle budget controls, subcontracts, and change orders in accounting software.
- Collaborate closely with Construction Project Managers to ensure timely handling of receivables, payables, progress billings, and lien waiver disbursements.
- Ensure accounting processes comply with local laws and assist with annual tax returns and IRS regulatory submissions.
- Oversee bookkeepers, maintain standard cost codes, and review weekly payables for approval and payment.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings, audit coordination, and the implementation of internal financial controls.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven accounting experience.
- Prior working experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and accounting software.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Residency within Ikeja or easily accessible surrounding areas is highly preferred.
