About the Role
Sunbeth Global Concepts (SGC) is a reputable trading firm specializing in the export of premium quality raw cocoa beans and cashew from Nigeria. Our expertise in sourcing, quality control, and logistics makes us a reliable partner in the global market. We are currently seeking a meticulous and objective Internal Control Officer to maintain the integrity of our financial and operational processes by providing independent assurance without participating in routine operating decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Verify procurement documentation and approvals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policy and authorization limits.
- Review supplier transactions and payment support to ensure proper authorization, accurate recording, and adequate backing.
- Conduct independent physical stock and document checks across procurement, warehouse, and inventory records.
- Test operational compliance with approved procedures across procurement, payments, inventory, logistics, and export processes.
- Identify control weaknesses, assess their risks, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Track and follow up on agreed remediation actions, escalating unresolved issues to management.
- Maintain strict independence from Procurement and Operations at all times to ensure unbiased audit findings.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in accounting, auditing, or internal control (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CIA) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of proven experience in internal audit, internal control, or compliance roles.
- Prior working experience within an agro-commodity, supply chain, or trading operational environment in Nigeria is highly preferred.
