About the Role
Emmanuel Bakeries Limited, a prominent and rapidly growing fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distributor established over a decade ago in Kogi State, is seeking a diligent and analytical Internal Auditor. In this vital role, you will help safeguard our company assets, ensure strict compliance with internal controls, and strengthen operational accountability across our extensive distribution network.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular internal audits across branches, departments, warehouses, and sales locations, including unannounced surprise audits.
- Review financial and operational records for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
- Perform physical stock checks, monitor inventory movements, and reconcile physical assets with system records.
- Identify control weaknesses, investigate unusual transactions, and assess potential business risks.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports featuring actionable findings, risk assessments, and practical recommendations.
- Monitor cash handling, revenue collections, and expense management to minimize operational losses.
- Collaborate with department heads to resolve audit exceptions and ensure the effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- A Master's degree or relevant professional accounting and auditing certifications will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Proven professional experience in internal auditing, external auditing, risk management, or financial controls, preferably within the FMCG or distribution sector.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
