About the Role

We are currently looking for a detail-driven and analytical Internal Audit Officer with a focus on General Insurance to strengthen our internal control systems, mitigate risk, and support our continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute comprehensive internal audit engagements covering general insurance operations, underwriting, claims management, and financial reporting.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control, risk management, and governance processes.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and non-compliance issues, offering practical and actionable recommendations.
- Prepare clear, concise audit reports for management and the audit committee, tracking the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless statutory compliance and reporting.
- Conduct special investigations and reviews as requested by senior management or the board.
- Bachelor's degree or HND, preferably in a numerate discipline such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Actuarial Science.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of cognate experience in internal audit, external audit, or core insurance operations within the financial services sector.
- Active professional certification or progress towards completion in ACCA, ICAN, CIA, or CMA is a distinct advantage.
- Deep understanding of general insurance products, regulatory frameworks, and risk management principles.
