About the Role
Fact Base Consulting is recruiting an experienced Internal Audit Officer on behalf of our client in the inventory-driven and retail sector. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding company assets, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining robust internal controls across all operational processes. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can seamlessly bridge financial oversight with practical inventory management.
Key Responsibilities- Review invoices and ensure correct posting of all financial payments and transactions.
- Conduct routine audits of invoices, quotations, sales transactions, and financial records.
- Monitor inventory management processes, including stock receipts, transfers, sales, and returns.
- Participate in regular stock-taking exercises to maintain accurate and reliable stock records.
- Reconcile sales invoices and physical stock balances with inventory records to identify discrepancies and losses.
- Investigate adverse balances and submit accurate, timely reports to the supervisor.
- Assess organizational compliance with internal policies, financial procedures, and established controls.
- Identify potential fraud, errors, irregularities, and control weaknesses, reporting all findings immediately.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive audit reports highlighting key findings, risks, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Perform other audit-related duties as assigned by management.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or any related discipline.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in internal audit, preferably within retail, supermarkets, distribution, or inventory-driven businesses.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with relevant accounting or inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
