We are currently looking for a diligent and analytical Internal Audit Officer to be based in our Port Harcourt office, playing a critical role in safeguarding our financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and report on internal audit reviews covering operational, financial, and compliance processes across the organization.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and statutory requirements specific to the maritime and oil and gas sectors.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify operational vulnerabilities and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive audit reports and present findings and actionable recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely implementation of agreed audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Assist external auditors during statutory and financial audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated professional experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, or compliance functions.
- Solid understanding of modern internal control frameworks, audit procedures, and corporate governance principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Active professional qualification or membership such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or CIA will be a distinct advantage.
