About the Role
Hitech Construction Company Limited, an industry leader in Building and Civil Engineering across Nigeria since 1988, is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly ethical professional to join our team as an Internal Audit & Compliance Officer (Associate). In this role, you will support vital internal audit activities, assess internal controls, review financial records, and monitor compliance across our regional offices in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Benin City.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning and conducting internal audits, gathering audit evidence, and drafting comprehensive reports.
- Examine financial transactions, payments, receipts, and project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Review procurement records, purchase orders, vendor invoices, and subcontractor disbursements.
- Conduct physical verification exercises for construction materials, equipment, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Identify control weaknesses, investigate operational discrepancies, and recommend actionable corrective measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, and relevant health, safety, and environment standards.
- Maintain thorough documentation and follow up on the successful implementation of audit recommendations across project sites.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in auditing, corporate accounting, or financial analysis.
- Mandatory completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Progress toward professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is considered a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of internal control frameworks, auditing standards, and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, complemented by exceptional analytical, numerical, and written communication skills.
