About the Role

First Independent Power Limited (FIPL) is a leading power generation company in Nigeria operating four gas turbine power plants in Rivers State with a combined capacity of 541MW. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Instrumentation and Control Engineer to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and availability of our automation systems supporting safe and continuous power generation. Key Responsibilities
  • Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex I&C faults swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure seamless plant operations.
  • Perform practical calibration of instruments to maintain high accuracy and compliance with safety, quality, and OEM standards.
  • Improve system reliability and implement proactive upgrades for enhanced power generation efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support safe, efficient, and continuous plant activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree (B.Eng) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience within the power generation or heavy industry sector.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Mark V, Mark VI, Sentinel, and Egatrol control systems will be a strong added advantage.
  • Active COREN certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and safety compliance skills.
