About the Role

Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited is a leading indigenous oil and gas engineering services company committed to delivering integrated solutions across the energy value chain. We are currently seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Instrument and Control Technician to join our offshore operations team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical instrumentation, control, and safety systems on our offshore production facilities, maintaining compliance with rigorous industry standards and HSE regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, inspect, and calibrate pressure, flow, level, and temperature instrumentation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analyzers, control valves, actuators, and positioners.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults associated with PLC, Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Fire and Gas (F&G), and process-control systems.
  • Carry out instrumentation loop checks, functional testing, commissioning, and cause-and-effect verification.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Inspect hazardous-area instrumentation and installations to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Maintain accurate calibration certificates, maintenance records, equipment history, and technical documentation.
  • Support equipment diagnostics, Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), defect elimination, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Identify equipment defects and abnormal operating conditions and escalate them appropriately.
  • Support shutdown, commissioning, start-up, and equipment reinstatement activities as required.
Qualifications
  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream E&P exposure.
  • Proven hands-on experience in instrumentation and control maintenance within comparable offshore or production environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of HSE requirements, operational controls, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • CompEx, ISA, City & Guilds, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • BOSIET/HUET and valid offshore medical certification where applicable.
