About the Role
Hitech Construction Company Limited, an established leader in building and civil engineering in Nigeria since 1988, is seeking a skilled and hands-on Industrial Mechanical Technician. Based in Eleko, Lagos, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our heavy-duty concrete pipe manufacturing machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, maintain, and repair specialized concrete pipe production machines and related industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within hydraulic systems, compaction units, and vibrating systems.
- Execute proactive preventive maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected production downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, conducting root-cause analysis for mechanical failures.
- Replace worn components including molds, drive shafts, bearings, hydraulic hoses, and filters.
- Interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics for accurate repairs.
- Perform precise shaft alignments, basic metal fabrication, and welding tasks.
- Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and comprehensive workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and recurring equipment issues.
- OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience maintaining industrial or heavy-duty machinery.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating mechanical components.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
- Practical skills in shaft alignment, welding, and basic metal fabrication.
- Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
