We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Igbo Teacher to join our esteemed academic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in preserving cultural heritage while instilling a deep appreciation for the Igbo language and literature among our students. You will design engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive, engaging lesson plans for Igbo language and literature that align with the school curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
- Create a vibrant, inclusive, and culturally enriching classroom environment that fosters student participation and curiosity.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and grades in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to organize cultural events, debates, and extracurricular activities related to Igbo heritage.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.A. (Ed) in Igbo, or a relevant degree in Linguistics or Arts with a specialization in Igbo language.
- Proven teaching experience within a reputable primary or secondary school environment.
- Deep knowledge of the Igbo language, grammar, traditions, and cultural nuances.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
