About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hydra Operator to join our dynamic operations team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our material handling and production support processes, ensuring that heavy lifting operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with our rigorous industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough daily safety inspections and check the operational working conditions of the hydra crane and other lifting equipment.
- Safely operate hydraulic mobile cranes and electrical lifting equipment to lift, move, load, and position materials.
- Coordinate seamlessly with ground personnel to ensure precise and hazard-free material placement.
- Maintain accurate logs of all lifting operations, daily equipment checklists, and any site incidents.
- Support the production, maintenance, and broader operational teams with timely material movement.
- Ensure all daily tasks comply fully with company Management Systems and plant safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Workshop and Utility.
- Valid Trade Test in equipment operation or relevant technical certification.
- Demonstrated practical and technical skills in handling heavy machinery and lifting equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with ground crew and supervisors.
- Solid awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices in an industrial environment.
- Ability to multitask, maintain composure under pressure, and adhere strictly to operational protocols.
