About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is currently seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician specializing in Direct Expansion (DX) air-conditioning systems to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of various cooling systems across our facilities, delivering top-tier technical support and maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities- Install, service, maintain, and repair split, cassette, and ducted AC systems in compliance with industry standards.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of air-conditioning units to extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot cooling, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system faults accurately.
- Check and record refrigerant pressure, voltage, current, and temperature readings during routine checks.
- Perform refrigerant charging, recovery, leak detection, and comprehensive system evacuation.
- Carry out copper pipe installation, brazing, repair, vacuuming, and rigorous pressure testing.
- Replace and repair compressors, motors, PCBs, sensors, capacitors, and various other vital AC components.
- Inspect, clean, and repair condensate drainage systems to prevent blockages and water damage.
- Technical qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of proven, hands-on experience working with DX air-conditioning systems in commercial or residential environments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and fault-diagnosis skills with an eye for detail.
- Good foundational knowledge of refrigeration and electrical principles related to modern AC systems.
- Proficiency in using basic HVAC tools and testing instruments, including manifold gauges, multimeters, and clamp meters.
- Prior practical experience with refrigerant management, brazing, and system pressure testing.
- Familiarity with VRV/VRF systems will be considered a strong added advantage.
