About the Role

Action Against Hunger | ACF Nigeria is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and building sustainable solutions to hunger and malnutrition. We are recruiting a Human Resources Officer to provide essential HR administrative and operational support to our team in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate preparation, processing, and filing of employment contracts and amendments in compliance with HR policies and procedures
  • Manage employee separation processes, including exit interviews, documentation, and filing of end-of-contract records
  • Monitor completion and timely submission of employee objectives and probationary evaluation forms
  • Maintain and update payroll databases, ensuring accurate processing of employee additions, deletions, and changes
  • Prepare and submit finalized monthly payroll records to the HR Manager within required timeframes
  • Oversee timesheet management, pay slip distribution, and systematic filing for audit purposes
  • Support staff induction and briefing processes for newly recruited employees
  • Facilitate HR policy training sessions and provide guidance to employees and managers
  • Maintain HR communication boards and disseminate HR-related updates to all staff
  • Collaborate with HR Abuja and medical insurance providers on employee data management
  • Coordinate accommodation arrangements for visitors and traveling staff
  • Process procurement requests for office consumables and supplies
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen HR practices and recommend improvements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, Management, or related field (Master's degree is advantageous)
  • Minimum 2 years work experience, including at least 1 year in an HR or administrative role
  • Basic knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR policies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with international NGOs or humanitarian sector is advantageous
  • Homere payroll software experience is a plus
  • Fluency in local languages is desirable
