About the Role
Africa Law Practice (ALP) is a premier commercial law firm in Nigeria, born from a strategic merger of four distinct practices bringing together legal, business, and policy expertise. We are currently seeking a strategic and dynamic Human Resources Manager to oversee our full spectrum of HR activities, drive our people strategy, and cultivate an exceptional organizational culture at our Lagos office.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies aligned with the firm's long-term business goals.
- Lead end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top-tier legal and administrative professionals.
- Administer performance management systems, competency mapping, and structured employee feedback mechanisms.
- Design and manage learning and development frameworks, leadership programs, and career progression pathways.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian labor laws, statutory regulations, and internal company policies.
- Oversee compensation, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS data management.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and change management initiatives.
- Monitor HR metrics, manage departmental budgets, and report on the effectiveness of people initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Mandatory professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Prior working experience within professional services, law firms, or consulting environments is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor legislation, HR compliance, and modern HRIS tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with absolute discretion regarding confidential data.
