About the Role
DP World is a global leader in supply chain solutions, dedicated to making trade flow better across ports, terminals, marine services, and logistics. We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced HSSEQ Officer to join our team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will act as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) for business unit vessels, championing our commitment to health, safety, security, environment, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visible HSSEQ leadership and serve as the primary interface between vessels, management, clients, and local authorities.
- Allocate at least 60% of work time onboard vessels, engaging and coaching crew members in HSE fundamentals and safe behaviors.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, operational, and internal standards, overseeing ISM, ISPS, and MLC codes.
- Develop and implement the Business Unit Annual HSSEQ Plan, tracking KPIs and managing local safety performance data.
- Lead incident investigations, promote lessons learned, and enforce DPW GHSE Pillars and Life Saving Rules.
- Professional qualification or certification in an HSSEQ-related field, with NEBOSH IGC required as a minimum.
- DPA and CSO qualification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and implementing QHSE programs, preferably within offshore supply vessel operations.
- Working knowledge of Class society, Flag state, and statutory regulations relating to marine and vessel operations.
- Exceptional planning, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
