About the Role

Vagan Oil & Gas Limited is a leading provider of comprehensive oil and gas field maintenance, welding and fabrication, electrical and mechanical installation, and civil construction services operating across land and swamp locations in the Niger Delta. We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to join our growing operations team. In this pivotal role, you will champion our safety culture, ensuring that all field activities comply strictly with statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations to protect our workforce and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems across all project sites.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and job safety analyses for ongoing oil and gas operations.
  • Lead thorough incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate engaging daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, and specialized HSE training sessions for staff and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, incident logs, and generate comprehensive periodic safety reports for management.
  • Ensure proper utilization, inspection, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and client representatives on HSE matters to maintain excellent compliance standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or HND in Engineering, Sciences, or a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, and HSE Levels 1-3 are a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within the oil and gas or construction industry.
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning.
  • Strong communication, technical reporting, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safety behaviors.
  • Must be immediately available to resume duties and willing to work in Niger Delta operational locations.
