About the Role
Tetra Maritime, a leading Nigerian ship owner and operator in the oil and gas supply chain, is seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Hostel Warden & Drill Sergeant (Residential) for its training arm, SeaLearn Academy. This pivotal residential role combines hostel management, cadet welfare, military-style training, security oversight, and asset administration to develop the officer-like qualities expected of future maritime professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain strict discipline, conduct daily parades, drills, and inspections, and enforce all academy rules.
- Reside within the hostel to manage 24/7 day-to-day operations, curfews, study periods, and residential safety.
- Promote officer-like qualities, mentor young adults, and investigate any incidents of misconduct or bullying.
- Ensure the security and safety of cadets, coordinate emergency procedures, and conduct regular safety audits.
- Submit comprehensive daily, weekly, and end-of-term reports to the Principal while managing asset inventories.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in military, naval, maritime, security, or residential training environments.
- Former Nigerian Navy Senior Rating, Chief Petty Officer, Warrant Officer, Instructor, or Commissioned Officer is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent report-writing, and exceptional communication skills.
- Physical fitness suitable for drill and inspection duties, with valid First Aid training as a plus.
