About the Role
Jewels Leading Lights Academy is a vibrant Christian school dedicated to nurturing children academically, morally, and spiritually. We are currently seeking a compassionate, responsible, and competent Hostel/Assistant Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this live-in role, you will support the Head Nurse in delivering quality healthcare while taking charge of the health, hygiene, safety, and general welfare of learners residing in the school hostel.
Key Responsibilities- Attend promptly to the day-to-day medical needs and minor injuries of hostel learners.
- Monitor sick or recovering students and escalate serious concerns to the Head Nurse.
- Maintain accurate medical records, health logs, and inventory of first aid supplies.
- Promote and enforce high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness within the hostel environment.
- Collaborate with hostel staff, kitchen personnel, and janitors regarding sanitation and nutrition.
- Support school health initiatives, medical screenings, and emergency response activities.
- Liaise professionally with parents, guardians, and approved external healthcare providers.
- Participate in health briefings, safety drills, and other relevant school programs.
- Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant qualification or equivalent healthcare training.
- Prior experience in a boarding school, residential care facility, or pediatric environment is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional child-care, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence, patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor during emergencies.
- Strong commitment to maintaining professional conduct and upholding the Christian ethos of the school.
- Must be willing to reside in the school-provided hostel quarters during the academic session.
