About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE) is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to fill the role of Higher Library Officer. Established to address the growing manpower needs in the Nigerian healthcare sector, FUAHSE offers a dynamic and intellectually stimulating academic environment. As part of our growing library team, you will play a crucial role in managing information resources, supporting academic research, and facilitating access to modern educational materials for our students and faculty across six faculties and seventeen departments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the day-to-day administration and management of university library services and resources.
- Catalog, classify, and organize library books, periodicals, digital assets, and research publications.
- Provide reference and circulation services to support students, researchers, and academic staff.
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory, loans, and acquisitions using modern library management systems.
- Promote digital literacy and guide library users in effectively accessing online databases and academic repositories.
- Ensure a quiet, orderly, and conducive learning environment within the university library premises.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional certification or membership with relevant library bodies (such as the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria, LRCN) is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated competence, professional integrity, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
