About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria as the Head, Trade Services Unit. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all trade-related operations within Dangote Cement Plc, ensuring the seamless execution of import, export, and domestic trade activities to support our aggressive market expansion and supply chain excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive trade services strategies aligned with overarching corporate goals and supply chain objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Trade Services team to achieve peak operational efficiency and high performance.
- Oversee import and export documentation, customs clearance, and strict compliance with international trade laws and CBN regulations.
- Manage strategic relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and key regulatory authorities.
- Monitor regulatory changes, mitigate global trade risks, and maintain immaculate audit trails for all transactions.
- Streamline trade processes, reduce operational costs, and introduce digital automation tools for documentation and reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal departments and external trade partners while representing the company in industry forums.
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; a Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- 10 to 15 years of proven experience in trade services, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, ERP systems, and the CBN Trade Portal.
- Exceptional negotiation, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership skills.
