About the Role
B-Praise Healthcare Medical Services Ltd. is a leading medical diagnostics facility located in Warri, Delta State, renowned for providing comprehensive imaging and laboratory services. We are currently seeking an exceptional Senior or Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist to spearhead our laboratory operations, mentor our technical team, and uphold the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care with a preferred specialisation in Chemical Pathology or Clinical Chemistry.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily clinical laboratory operations across all sections to ensure seamless workflow.
- Perform and supervise chemical pathology investigations while rigorously reviewing diagnostic results.
- Manage internal quality control, external quality assessments, and drive necessary corrective actions.
- Enforce proper sample collection, identification, handling, and storage protocols.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate laboratory personnel, interns, and support staff.
- Maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures, quality records, and laboratory information systems.
- Monitor reagent inventory, track expiry dates, and minimise operational wastage.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosafety standards and prepare the facility for regulatory inspections.
- BMLS or B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science with full MLSCN registration and a current practising licence.
- Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Strong practical expertise in Chemical Pathology and Clinical Chemistry.
- Working knowledge of haematology, medical microbiology, and automated analyser troubleshooting.
- Relevant professional fellowship or Master’s degree in Chemical Pathology will be a distinct advantage.
