About the Role
Broadoaks British School is an esteemed all-through international school located in the prestigious Maitama district of Abuja, Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Account to provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance to support our continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the school's long-term operational and academic goals.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring cost efficiency, accurate forecasting, and prudent liquidity management.
- Ensure strict compliance with IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Design, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard institutional assets and prevent financial risks.
- Manage financial reporting, providing actionable insights and periodic performance reports to senior management and the Board.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts team, fostering a culture of excellence, high performance, and ethical conduct.
- Liaise seamlessly with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders including HR and administration.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Must possess a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAN.
- Minimum of 8 to 15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- Proven expertise in asset management, inventory control, and financial reconciliation within an educational or corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage, alongside exceptional Microsoft Excel skills.
