We are currently seeking a visionary and experienced Head, Family/Internal Medicine/Paediatrics to join our esteemed healthcare network in Nigeria. In this vital leadership role, you will provide comprehensive clinical and administrative direction to our medical departments, ensuring the highest standards of patient-centred care, safety, and clinical governance are consistently met and maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Set, maintain, and audit rigorous standards of clinical care, patient safety, and governance across the Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Paediatrics departments.
- Organize medical staffing, duty rotas, specialized clinics, and ward cover to guarantee seamless continuity and exceptional quality of healthcare services.
- Lead the accurate diagnosis and management of complex medical cases, providing senior clinical decision-making and oversight for patient referrals.
- Supervise, mentor, appraise, and foster the professional development of consultants, medical officers, and trainee doctors.
- Collaborate effectively with diagnostics, pharmacy, nursing, and managed-care/HMO processes to optimize patient pathways.
- Contribute actively to strategic service planning, resource management, and hospital-wide quality-improvement initiatives.
- Represent the department in clinical forums, management meetings, and relevant hospital committees.
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Must possess a registrable postgraduate specialist qualification (Fellowship) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Paediatrics.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of post-fellowship specialist experience in the relevant medical discipline.
- At least 2 years of demonstrable experience in a departmental leadership or supervisory healthcare role.
- Strong expertise in clinical governance, audit, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary team management.
