About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head, DSR Transport to oversee our extensive logistics and fleet operations. Based in our bustling Lagos headquarters, this critical leadership role ensures cost-effective transportation, timely delivery of materials and finished goods, and strict adherence to health and safety standards across our multi-billion Naira operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage the annual transport and fleet budget, aligning financial objectives with corporate goals.
- Oversee daily loading, dispatch, and delivery activities to maintain optimal Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Ensure regular vehicle inspection, preventive maintenance, and licensing of all fleet assets.
- Promote a rigorous health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) culture across all transport operations.
- Drive logistics planning to achieve high OTIFIC (On Time, In Full, Invoiced Correctly) performance targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics and fleet management team.
- Minimum of a First Degree in Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Social Sciences, Statistics, Accounting, Management, or related fields.
- 10-15 years of comprehensive logistics and transport experience, with at least 10 years in a senior management capacity.
- Active membership in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or other relevant professional bodies.
- Proficiency in logistics and fleet management systems such as SAP and TMS.
- Expertise in route planning, regulatory compliance, and budget management.
