About the Role
Unified Payment Services Limited is Nigeria's premier Payments & Financial Technology company founded in 1997. We operate as a shared infrastructure for the banking community, delivering innovative and reliable e-payment solutions across Africa. We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head, Domestic Switching & Terminal Operations to lead our switching infrastructure, ensuring high transaction success rates, minimal downtime, and full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee end-to-end domestic transaction switching, routing, and authorization across multiple channels including POS, Web, Mobile, ATM, and QR.
- Supervise all aspects of POS and terminal lifecycle management, ensuring optimal uptime and field efficiency.
- Manage daily settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, and dispute resolution in coordination with partner banks and financial regulators.
- Ensure strict adherence to CBN PTSP/PTSA regulations, NIBSS standards, and robust risk management protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance switching architecture, APIs, and automated transaction monitoring systems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Switching and Terminal Operations team to foster a culture of excellence and agility.
- First Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in payment operations, electronic banking, or transaction switching.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership role within a reputable fintech, Payment Service Provider (PSP), or commercial bank.
- Deep understanding of CBN, NIBSS, and card scheme standards, coupled with strong stakeholder management abilities.
