About the Role
Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCO) is a premier aviation ground handling service provider in Nigeria, delivering world-class safety and operational efficiency. We are currently seeking a dynamic and technically proficient GSE Manager to lead our Ground Support Equipment team in Port Harcourt. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the maintenance, deployment, and safety compliance of all ground support machinery, ensuring seamless aircraft turnaround and adherence to strict industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage overall GSE team operations, including staff budgeting, discipline, performance management, training, and talent development.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective utilization of internal staff and outsourced labor resources.
- Promote a robust safety culture, ensuring all equipment operators possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely and wear appropriate PPE.
- Ensure aircraft turnaround activities strictly adhere to safety and security regulations, escalating and managing all operational irregularities with the Station Manager.
- Develop and manage GSE activities to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with customer airlines.
- Maintain a working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and oversee equipment service requests and required documentation.
- Review and audit unit performance standards, presenting actionable recommendations for continuous improvement to the Station Manager.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service quality.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. or HND in a relevant engineering, technical, or administrative field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in machinery operation, maintenance, and team leadership.
- Valid Nigerian driver’s license with the proven ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Demonstrated experience in operating a variety of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Evidence of relevant professional training and certifications in mechanical maintenance or aviation GSE.
- Sound understanding of machinery operation, maintenance principles, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
