About the Role

Goonite Hygiene is a premier manufacturing and distribution company operating in the FMCG sector, proudly producing trusted health and personal care brands like Lebrace Diapers and Besense Sanitary Pads. We are currently looking for a driven and technically inclined Mechanical Engineering Graduate Trainee to join our state-of-the-art facility located in the Freezone, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. This immersive program offers an exceptional opportunity for early-career professionals to gain practical, hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing operations, preventive maintenance, and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the precision sharpening and maintenance of rotary cutting knives, slitter blades, and embossing rolls.
  • Learn to safely operate specialized grinding and sharpening equipment under expert technician supervision.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machine components and cutting edges using advanced measuring tools.
  • Support the preventive and corrective maintenance of high-speed diaper and sanitary pad production machinery.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic mechanical faults to minimize operational downtime.
  • Assist in the adjustment, alignment, lubrication, and replacement of mechanical parts including bearings, shafts, gears, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain accurate logs of tool sharpening, equipment repairs, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance and seamless workflow.
  • Adhere strictly to all corporate health, safety, and environmental policies within the workshop.
  • Participate actively in technical workshops, safety briefings, and continuous learning initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of ND, HND, B.Eng., or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates and ambitious candidates with 0 to 2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply.
  • Completed or ongoing NYSC is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and workshop tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and a stellar safety record.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and work shifts when required.
