About the Role
Microsoft Corporation is looking for a dynamic and experienced Government Affairs Director to spearhead our public policy, regulatory engagement, and strategic initiatives across Nigeria and the wider West African region. Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic vision and leadership for developing and executing top-priority policy frameworks and political goals.
- Formulate Microsoft's policy agenda, lead strategic campaigns, and advise executive management on complex regulatory and industry issues.
- Build and maintain robust partnerships with governmental and non-governmental thought leaders, trade associations, and industry coalitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, including Legal and Engineering, to ensure aligned approaches on Microsoft-wide initiatives.
- Represent Microsoft at high-level events, drive communications frameworks, and enhance company reputation across West Africa.
- Identify and unblock potential regulatory barriers to unlock market access and support business growth objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a strong plus.
- Significant professional experience in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy, or international law.
- Deep familiarity with policy and regulatory challenges facing the technology sector in Nigeria and West Africa.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with a proven ability to translate complex technical issues for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in coalition-building, project management, and executing long-term advocacy campaigns in ambiguous environments.
