About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, empowering millions of customers with instant access to loans and financial services through our advanced mobile application. We are currently looking for a talented Golang Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, resilient backend services that drive our expanding product ecosystem. In this role, you will tackle complex distributed systems challenges, shape our architectural direction, and deliver robust financial solutions that support our rapid growth across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop high-quality backend features in collaboration with product and cross-functional teams to serve our customers better.
- Build and evolve platform services that enable specific market features while maintaining a strong, unified core product.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for complex financial processes and distributed systems.
- Drive architecture and technology decisions ensuring high reliability, performance, and security.
- Design and improve relational database schemas, ensuring data integrity, indexing, and optimal performance.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, robust coding standards, thorough code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers on the team.
- 5+ years of professional backend software development experience with a strong focus on Golang.
- Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems and platform services.
- Strong background in relational database design, data modeling, SQL, and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, along with containerization tools like Kubernetes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of software engineering principles and system design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment.
- Prior experience in fintech, banking, or lending sectors is highly advantageous.
