About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Gardener to join our esteemed facility in Enugu. As part of our campus maintenance team, you will help cultivate and preserve the lush landscapes that reflect our commitment to care, beauty, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune trees, and weed flower beds regularly to ensure a neat appearance.
- Plant new flowers, bushes, shrubs, and trees according to landscaping designs.
- Water plants, lawns, and gardens using proper irrigation techniques and equipment.
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and effectively to promote healthy plant growth.
- Operate, maintain, and perform basic repairs on gardening tools and equipment such as lawnmowers and trimmers.
- Clear walkways, parking areas, and pathways of debris, fallen leaves, and litter.
- Monitor plant health and report any signs of disease, pest infestation, or structural damage to management.
- Physically fit and able-bodied to handle manual outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Proven prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of plant care, soil preparation, and safe handling of gardening tools.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good time management skills and a strong work ethic.
- Residency in or around Enugu State is preferred.
