About the Role
Holy Child College, a prestigious Catholic co-educational full boarding school located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is seeking an enthusiastic and competent French Teacher. We are looking for a dedicated educator who can make learning French engaging, practical, and enjoyable, helping our students develop natural communication skills and a deep appreciation for the language.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver dynamic French lessons aligned with the approved curriculum, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Place strong emphasis on correct French pronunciation, accent, intonation, and conversational fluency through interactive methods.
- Conduct regular speaking activities, role-plays, dialogues, and presentations to foster an immersive language environment.
- Assess students' language proficiency, monitor academic progress, and provide targeted support to ensure success in internal and external examinations.
- Integrate digital resources and technology to enhance language acquisition and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom.
- Participate actively in school programmes, cultural events, and co-curricular activities while supporting the school's core values of discipline and academic excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in French, French Education, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification and TRCN certification (or eligibility for registration) are distinct advantages.
- Proven secondary school teaching experience with a strong command of the Nigerian curriculum.
- Excellent spoken French with superior knowledge of grammar, phonetics, and vocabulary.
