About the Role
Moniepoint is a leading financial technology company digitizing Africa's real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses, providing them with all the payment, banking, credit, and business management tools they need to succeed. We are currently looking for a proactive Fraud Investigation Officer to join our risk team in Nigeria and protect our platform and customers from emerging financial threats.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate suspected fraud cases thoroughly and determine appropriate outcomes based on available evidence.
- Analyze complex transaction patterns to identify fraud trends and emerging operational risks.
- Document investigation findings accurately and maintain comprehensive case records within agreed timelines.
- Support active fund recovery efforts by collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Escalate high-risk or complex cases promptly to mitigate financial and reputational losses.
- Recommend actionable process and control improvements based on insights gathered from investigations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Compliance, and Customer Support teams to resolve fraud issues.
- Ensure all assigned investigations are successfully completed within agreed service levels (SLAs).
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant academic field from a recognized institution.
- 2 to 4 years of proven professional experience in fraud investigations, banking, fintech, or related risk management functions.
- Deep understanding of digital payment fraud, transaction analysis methodologies, and modern investigation techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills combined with exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of integrity and confidentiality.
