About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fleet Officer to join our transport and logistics team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Transport and Fleet Manager to drive strategic performance improvement, maximize the efficiency of our extensive truck fleet, and ensure seamless supply chain operations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure strict compliance with daily truck maintenance schedules to maximize operational efficiency and vehicle lifespan.
- Plan optimal journey routes, design comprehensive road hazard maps, and guarantee adherence to strict delivery schedules.
- Track vehicle movement, fuel usage, and consumption rates, immediately escalating any discrepancies or potential fuel misuse to management.
- Monitor vehicle registration, insurance renewals, and statutory compliance in coordination with the procurement department.
- Dispatch loaded trucks and actively track their transit using advanced control facilities until successful delivery at destination.
- Enforce strict adherence to all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and state and federal safety regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, monthly, and annual fleet performance reports for senior management.
- Immediately report any health, safety, and environment (HSE) issues, accidents, or near misses to the line manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transport Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience in a similar fleet management or transport role.
- Hands-on experience with fleet telemetry systems, truck tracking software, and fleet maintenance systems.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and safety standards within the Nigerian transport industry.
- Exceptional analytical, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
